ANIMAL RESCUE AND SHELTER

“Being a hero to someone, even if it is a dog, is a feeling like no other. Though it can be frustrating, it can be the most rewarding thing to give someone a second chance at a happy life.”

Animal rescue is basically a rescuing, giving shelter and providing required care to the animals. There are many teams and individuals who establish shelter homes for several kinds of animals such as cows, goats, horses, reptiles, etc. but the most common are for dogs and cats. They rescue them from abuse and cruelty.. These organizations or individuals either work with their respected municipalities or by their own.  They request people to adopt these animals and make them a member of their families.

There is a difference between animal rescue and animal shelter. Animal shelter homes could be under a local government or a private organization or individual but animal rescue are the private organizations. Animals found in animal rescue shelter are either abused or rescued from cruelty, slaughtering, puppy mills, hunting and fishing and animal testing; whereas animal shelters accept animals found on the roads or left by their owners neglected, malnourished, or abandoned animals. Animal rescue homes are temporary shelter until the animal is fit and adopted on the other hand animal shelters can be a permanent home for the animals there. Some animals easily adopt the surrounding environment provided to them, which is obviously different from what they are actually in habit of, but some animals face difficulties to adopt. The torture they suffer makes their nature aggressive and they tend to hurt someone. These animals require a lot of care.

Animals cannot talk or say what they want but they too have feeling like humans or more than humans. You know, a pet is more faithful than others near you; they can be the best company for you. Scientific studies also says that animals play a very important role in human life, physical and mentally. They help us stay positive and fit; they love us and care for us. A human- pet relationship is the most pure form of relationship.

There are several courses of actions that one can do, you can volunteer in your local shelter homes or rescuing organizations; should complain or inform if you come across any kind of harm, torture or abuse to these beings; you can open up your own organization. If you fear or don’t like animals much still you can make donations or provide with necessary items to the organizations. We can try to use animal free products which are now easily available because of increased awareness.

Being specie of living organism who can express themselves, it is our moral responsibility to help these animals to live a healthy life that they deserve. It doesn’t matter if you are an animal lover or not, should contribute something.
